“All About Posh”

In 1990's an all girl band surprise the Mass with their first single “Wanna be”. It went number one in the UK and in U.S., and would be followed by other hugely successful number of singles from their albums. The band Spice Girls, first called “Touch” is consist of five girls and one of them is Victoria Beckham (then Adams) also known as “Posh Spice”.

She was born April 17, 1974. Victoria does not like to be called Vicky but instead, call her Posh which stands for the best of everything (an old luxury liner term, P.O.S.H. stood for "Port Out, Starboard Home"-- the best rooms). Her parents are Anthony Williams and Jacqueline Adams. She has a younger sister Louise and a younger brother Christian. The family were very wealthy that they can get whatever they wanted.

She attended Jason Theathre School in Hoddesdon and at 17, she started going to the Laine Arts Theathre College in Epsom, Surrey. Victoria began as a dancer before she joined “Spice Girls”. After completing the 3-year course at Laine Arts, she answered an ad in “The Stage” magazine which was looking for five girls that could sing and dance. Victoria was picked, history was about to made.

She met Emma who had been in a play with her when they were kids; Geri while auditioning for a role in “Tank Girl”; Mel C. attended a rival school and Mel B. at the audition for the forming of the band. The Spice Girls became successful, achieving their international fame. “Forever” which was their third album was much less successful unlike the two other album's “Spice” and “Spiceworld”. After their third album girl's stopped recording, and Victoria decided to have a solo career. They also did Spice World movie.

While enjoying huge success, Victoria started dating footballer David Beckham. After a year of relationship January 24, 1998, Beckham proposed to Victoria in a restaurant in Cheshunt, England. The two were married at Lutrellstown Castle, Ireland on 4th of July 1999, and the wedding attracted tremendous media coverage. Beckham's teammate Gary Neville was the best man, and the couples son Brooklyn, then four months old was the ring bearer. September 1, 2002, the Beckham's second son, Romeo James was born; followed on February 2005, third son Cruz David in Madrid Spain.

Victoria has many achievements. Her autobiography, entitled Learning to fly, was the 3rd best selling non-fiction title of 2001 and the total UK sales stand at more than 500,000 copies. And her second book, a fashion book titled That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between, which was published October 30, 2006 stood at #2, on The Sunday Times Book Charts. She also won two British Glamour Magazine Awards: one for "Woman of the Year" and another for "Entrepreneur of the Year". And recently, she launched her dVb collection in NYC at the high-end Saks Fifth Avenue, along with unveiling her eyewear range in the US for the first time.
