Anne Hathaway

She's an American film and stage actress born on November 12, 1982. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Gerald Hathaway, a lawyer, and Kate McCauley, an actress who inspired Hathaway to follow in her footsteps. She has an older brother Michael who is a writer, and a younger brother Tom who is an aspiring actor. Anne has mainly Irish and French ancestry, with more distant German and Native American roots. She wanted to be a nun during her childhood, but decided not to become a nun after knowing that her brother Michael was a gay. She felt that she couldn't be part of a religion that disapproved of her brother's sexual orientation. Her first major role came in the short-lived television series “Get Real”. She gained widespread recognition for her roles in “The Princess Diaries”, which was a commercial success. Anne continued appearing in comedy-oriented films and was known in the media as a children's role model. In a surprise move, sexy and hot Anne appeared topless in the films “Havoc” and “Brokeback Mountain”. She said that doing family-friendly films didn't mean she was similar to their characters or mean she objected to appearing nude in other films. Anne was then seen in “Becoming Jane”, in which she stars as English writer Jane Austen. She will also star as Agent 99 in the screen adaptation of the TV series “Get Smart”, and has recently signed onto the “Hookwinked” sequel, “Hood vs. Evil”. Anne enjoys her interior design and reading as pastimes, and has stated that she is a non-denominational Christian. She has cited Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead as her favorite novel. She has been in a relationship with real estate developer Rafaello Follieri since 2004.
